Step 1: Preparing the Back, Sides and Base

Next, you’ll need to test-fit the back and sides of the tower before you add any glue. It’s a good idea to fit the felt lining in place, and to put a line of wood-glue down all the guide-slopes where you need it. It’s also a good idea to make sure the front has the lining and a magnetic lock fitted before you add any glue.
After you’ve made sure the back and sides are correctly fitted, it’s time to add the top of the tower shell. It’s a good idea to smear some wood-glue over the bottom of the shell, so it will stick to the felt lining if you need to move it around.
Once the glue is dry, you can add the angled side sections of the felt lining. These will be where you’ll add the tumbling slopes, so it’s a good idea to mark out the diagonal slots with a pencil before you add any glue.
To finish off the back and sides, you’ll need to add a clip to the felt lining, so that it can hold the ramp in place while you do your gluing. This will prevent the ramp from slipping while you’re doing the gluing, and will ensure that the felt stays in place as the tower dries.
The next step is to assemble the bottom of the tower shell, using the two triangular pieces to keep the parts from coming apart while you’re gluing them. You’ll need to use some generous amounts of glue here, as they won’t meet at right angles.
