X-Ray Contact Lenses

The X Ray contact lenses are special marked cards contact lens that work with poker decks marked with X ray ink. These contact lenses have been specially designed to make them invisible to other players. These contact lenses are extremely useful for cheating at poker.

Toric lenses are designed to fit an astigmatic cornea, which is curved like a ball or torus. Toric lenses have a specialized design that creates different focusing power vertically and horizontally. This is why your toric contact lens prescription will have numbers in the “SPH,” “CYL,” and “Axis” columns.

These contacts are designed to correct astigmatism and other refractive errors such as nearsightedness and farsightedness. Toric lenses are designed a bit more complexly than regular lenses in order to achieve multiple focuses within one lens. They are heavier than other lenses to make sure they stay in place.

PSI’s Xray lenses were developed based on existing technologies. However, they had to be modified for the unique physics associated with Xray light. Unlike visible light, which can be separated into its spectral colors by passing through two different materials, X-rays are absorbed in the material and cannot be reversed. This meant that the first part of the achromatic lens had to be created with established nanolithography methods while the second – the refractive structure – had to be created using 3D printing on the micrometer scale.
